What is recorded

Full legal name

The signer types their full name as their electronic signature.

A SHA-256 hash of the contract content proves the document was not altered after signing.

Legal basis: Dutch law & EU eIDAS

Under Dutch law (article 3:15a of the Civil Code), an electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature, provided the method is sufficiently reliable. For rental contracts, a simple electronic signature (SES) is sufficient — no qualified certificate is required. This is confirmed by the EU eIDAS Regulation (910/2014), which states that an electronic signature shall not be denied legal effect solely on the grounds that it is in electronic form. Tenora records the signer's name, timestamp, IP address, and a SHA-256 content hash, providing a robust audit trail that meets the reliability standard.
